Freelands SCARLETT & Colt
|
Scarlett is a five year old mare at the Freeland Gypsy Horse Farm in El Dorado, AR. She foaled for the first time!
(Due date: March 1, 2010).
One & a half hours after Jordan's foaling:
February 23, 2010
"Oh My Gosh, Beth? Beth?
Come Here, hurry, quick, You gotta see this.
I think we got another one with Scarlett!," Wes said.
Scarlett's Labor & Foaling: 2/23/2010
Labor onset: 5:15 A.M.
Scarlett was up & down at least 15 times!
Foal Bag showing at 5:30 A.M.
Foal Legs showing at 5:37 A.M.
Wes assisted: 5:43 A.M.,
Scarlett got up then.
Foals legs out only at 5:48 A.M.
Beth called the vet: 5:50 A.M.
5:54 A.M.
Wes: "Gotta get somebody to hold her down."
Beth tried to keep her still
but Scarlett got up: 5:55 A.M.
Wes pulled the foals front leg.
He is out of breath from exertion.
The foal is almost out: 6:03 A.M.
Scarlett pushes good: 6:04 A.M.
Foal OUT: 6:04 A.M.
Colt foaled Feb 23, 2010 at 6:04 AM,
red & white & a solid red tail,
like Scarlett's colors.
Vet arrived: 6:18 A.M.
Shot for Scarlett: 6:26 A.M.
Colt tried to stand:
6:44 A.M., 6:46 A.M., etc, etc.
Colt nursed:
7:17 A.M., 7:30 A.M., 7:33 A.M.,
for a few seconds each time.
Colt nursed: 8:20 A.M. to 8:24 A.M.
Colt nursed: 9 A.M. to 9:02 A.M.
On this date of 02/23/2010:
Jordan foaled first at 4:23 A.M.
Scarlett foaled next at 6:04 A.M.
This is a Registered Gypsy breed.
